What are the Knights? The Knights of Columbus are an international fraternal organization based on 4 pillars: charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. The Knights are an all male organization of practical Catholic gentlemen united in the faith to serve the community and grow as individuals to positively influence our families and our neighbors. Importantly, the Knights are pro-life and fight against the culture of death by prayer and action. While membership is for men of ages 18 and up, women assist the Knights and can participate in many of the events and we even encourage it! As a member you will likely find yourself finding more time for prayer and considering service before self. And you'll enjoy positive reinforcement of these activities through fellowship. And of course meet a lot of good friends along the way. To learn more about the Knights click on the links at the right or contact the Grand Knight (elected leader) of the Blessed Sacrament council directly. Please direct inquiries about joining the Knights to Past Grand Knight (PGK) Joe Bush at rojoe87@verizon.net. What do the Knights do? The Council is very active in the Parish. Knights provide services as requested by the Pastor such as preparing meals and refreshments after Parish functions. Knights assist a number of youth endeavors such as the Parish sports teams. An annual Basketball Parish sports teams tournament is conducted that benefits the Council’s scholarship program. Other events like KOVAR assists mentally handicapped individuals in the region and provides assistance for Special Olympics programs.
